Cyber Security Courses

cyber security course work

Cybersecurity courses will vary depending upon the program you are enrolled in; however, most will cover topics such as hacker trends, encryption, malware, file systems, and internet history research. You will learn about both offensive and defensive methods in cyber security and many courses may overlap with computer forensics programs. Many degree and certificate programs will prepare you for the highly esteemed Cybersecurity Forensic Analyst (CSFA) certification or the GIAC (Global Information Assurance Certification) security certification, which will provide you with credentials and proof that you have certain competencies in computer and digital device security and help kick-start a career in cyber security. A potential employer in law enforcement or the private sector will be much more comfortable hiring an applicant who has proven through examination that they have these skills.
