State Crime Labs

State crime labs, as well as city and county crime labs play an important role and are major contributors in the modern criminal justice system. Most state crime labs are accredited by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratories Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) and provide forensic services for criminal justice agencies in their state. A wide variety of forensic professionals including; forensic scientists, forensic technicians, evidence technicians, ballistic experts, and most recently, computer forensic scientists perform numerous tests in these labs.
